Christmas table setting ideas

The festive season is right around the corner. You might already have your house all decorated for the new season, but what about table scapes? Table decor is equally important as your general house decor – after all, you’ll be spending most of your time around the dinner table.

We’ve gathered a few pictures and ideas you can easily implement at home

White textiles with a touch of red & natural

A white tablecloth and white napkins for your Christmas table might be the straightforward choice and something already available to you. So it’s very easy to spruce it up with berry branches and cinnamon sticks for not just a delightful-looking, but also gorgeous-smelling table setting that’s equally minimal and elegant.

Orange Pomander Christmas Table

Just as easy and just as fragrant as the idea above: create a centrepiece made of candles, add evergreen branches then scatter the orange pomander (made of whole oranges and cloves). Use wood rounds as charges plates or place mats, then lay your napkin hanging off, between the dinner plate and soup bowl. You can have a whole look ready in less than 20 minutes.

Polka dot runner and napkins – reverse

If you already own City to Cottage Polka Dot dinnerware, and would like to re-create this look, we’d advise to do it in reverse: whatever you see here polka dot, replace with plain white, or the colour of your polka dot plates, and set the table using our beautiful ceramics to avoid an overly cluttered look.

Plaid & red

Plaid place mat, a plain white dinner plate and a patterned soup bowl with plain napkin – perfection. Add some tea light holders, and a red wine glass for each sitting and you’ve got yourself perfection.
